The Place Ledger was born from a love of buildings, interiors and the stories held within them.
Our team brings together backgrounds in interiors, architecture, art and design, with a shared fascination for the places people call home. We are drawn to the details that give a building its character — the original doorway, the altered floor plan, the forgotten room, the old photograph, the story passed down through generations.
Some places have centuries of history. Others have only just begun theirs.
A house might have stood for two hundred years, or it might have been a neglected building lovingly restored over the past two. It might be a family home filled with memories, a holiday cottage with a new chapter to tell, or a much-loved business housed within an old and characterful building.
The story doesn’t have to be ancient to be worth remembering.
We take the stories, memories and histories that make a place special and transform them into beautifully considered pieces of art.
Combining historical research, storytelling, illustration and design, each Place Ledger is created specifically for the place it celebrates. We carefully refine the story, interpret its character and present it in a timeless format designed to be kept, displayed and passed on.
